The Rappaport Family Institute for Research in the Medical Sciences is an independent research institute for biomedical sciences, working within the Technion - Israel Institute of Technology's Ruth and Bruce Rappaport Faculty of Medicine.

BioRap Technologies Ltd. is the technology transfer company of the Rappaport Research Institute, promoting technologies and innovative perspectives in the area of biomedicine.

Our two Nobel Laureates, Profs. Hershko and Ciechanover, are prime examples of world leaders in the utilization of innovative perspectives.  

The company promotes advanced technologies, combining research and development activities with a commercial approach.  Azilect (Rasagiline), a new drug in the fight against the progression of Parkinson's Disease, was invented by Prof Youdim a Rappaport Institute member, together with Prof Finberg.  It has been licensed to TEVA Pharmaceuticals and is already on the market.
